Chad Qualls threw a perfect eighth for the Padres and Heath Bell retired the side in order in the ninth for his 38th save.

San Diego scored its runs in the first inning with Jesus Guzman producing an RBI single and then coming in to score when Arizona right fielder Gerardo Parra committed a fielding error trying to run down Nick Hundley's double.
