NBA: Philadelphia 82, New Jersey 77

NEWARK, N.J., Dec. 14 (UPI) -- Jrue Holiday and Spencer Hawes combined for 37 points Tuesday and the Philadelphia 76ers handed New Jersey its eighth straight loss, 82-77.

Holiday scored 19 points, Hawes added 18 and Elton Brand chipped in with 15 more for the Sixers, who won for the sixth time in eight games after starting the season 3-13.

Jodie Meeks contributed 12 points and Andre Iguodala made two key free throws down the stretch to hold off a late Nets charge.

New Jersey got 16 points from Brook Lopez and 14 each from Devin Harris and Travis Outlaw in its eighth straight loss.
