NBA: Orlando 93, Atlanta 89

ORLANDO, Fla., Nov. 8 (UPI) -- Dwight Howard pumped in 27 points and Vince Carter added 19 points Monday in the Orlando Magic's 93-89 victory over Atlanta.

Jason Williams' 24-foot 3-pointer with 4:15 left in the game put the Magic ahead for good at 84-82, and six points from Carter over the final 1:12 assured the victory, Orlando's fifth in six games to start the season.

Howard went 7-of-11 from the free throw line and grabbed 11 rebounds, and J.J. Redick chipped in 11 off the bench for the victors, who won despite shooting only 4-of-22 from 3-point territory.

The Hawks got 23 points from Joe Johnson and Josh Smith added 13 points and 13 rebounds in the loss.
