NBA: Orlando 105, New Jersey 90

ORLANDO, Fla., Nov. 5 (UPI) -- Dwight Howard led Orlando to a big third quarter Friday and the Magic pulled away for a 105-90 decision over New Jersey.

The Nets had a surprising three-point lead at halftime but Orlando outscored New Jersey in the third period 32-16 and easily maintained control over the final 12 minutes.

Howard made 9-of-14 shots from the field and scored 30 points, helping the Magic improve to 3-1. They are unbeaten at home in three games this season.

Jameer Nelson added 20 points and Vince Carter had 19. Orlando went to the foul line 32 times to just 10 for the Nets and the Magic made 26 of those attempts to eight for New Jersey.

The Nets were led by Travis Outlaw with 17 points.

Orlando was coming off a 42-point home victory over Minnesota in which the Magic scored a franchise record 78 in the first half.
