BASEL, Switzerland, Nov. 5 (UPI) -- Top-seeded Roger Federer claimed another quick straight-set victory Friday in quarterfinal play at the Swiss Indoors tennis tournament.

Federer improved to 9-2 lifetime against Radek Stepanek with a 6-3, 6-2 victory. Federer won 80 percent of the points on serve and didn't face a break point. He notched a break in sixth game of the first set and won two more -- in the fifth and seventh games -- in the second.

He moves into Saturday's tournament semifinals against fourth-seeded Andy Roddick, who beat David Nalbandian 6-4, 6-4. Roddick only lost nine points on serve and also didn't have to deal with a break point.

The other semifinal sends second-seeded and Swiss Indoors defending champion Novak Djokovic against Viktor Troicki.

Djokovic handled Robin Haase 6-2, 6-3 Friday on the strength of four service breaks. Troicki was a 6-4, 6-2 winner over Richard Gasquet behind 12 aces. Troicki, like Federer and Roddick, didn't face a break point.

Roddick is a familiar opponent for Federer, who has won 19 of the 21 meetings with Roddick. Djokovic owns a five-match winning streak against Troicki, who took his first meeting versus Djokovic in 2007 but is winless since.
