LINZ, Austria, Oct. 14 (UPI) -- Daniela Hantuchova and Ana Ivanovic, both former winners of the event, reached the quarterfinals Thursday at the Generali Ladies Linz.
Hantuchova, seeded second this week, defeated Carla Suarez Navarro 6-4, 6-3. The seventh-seeded Ivanovic ousted Barbora Zahlavova Strycova 6-3, 6-2.
Hantuchova won the title in 2007 and Ivanovic was the winner a year later.
In the quarterfinals, Hantuchova will face Patty Schnyder in a rematch of the 2007 final. Schnyder recorded a 6-2, 6-0 decision over No. 8 seed Klara Zakopalova.
Ivanovic's quarterfinal opponent will be Julia Goerges, who easily got past Petra Kvitova 6-2, 6-1.
Friday's other quarterfinal matches will send Andrea Petkovic against Eleni Daniilidou and Sara Errani against Roberta Vinci.
