NHL: Philadelphia 4, Colorado 2

PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 11 (UPI) -- Jeff Carter's tie-breaking goal with 2:38 left to play Monday propelled the Philadelphia Flyers to a 4-2 victory over Colorado.

The goal, which put Philadelphia up 3-2, was the second of the game for Carter, who helped the Flyers celebrate the raising of their 2009-10 Eastern Conference championship banner earlier in the evening.

Claude Giroux and Darroll Powe got the Flyers' other goals and Sergei Bobrovsky, making his second career start, stopped 25-of-27 shots. The 22-year-old Russian netminder won his NHL debut against Pittsburgh last week.

Colorado got goals from Brandon Yip and Milan Hejduk and Craig Anderson stopped 34-of-37 shots in the loss.
