MLB: New York Yankees 3, Cleveland 2

CLEVELAND, July 26 (UPI) -- Curtis Granderson's two-run homer in the eighth inning Monday boosted the New York Yankees to a 3-2 comeback win over Cleveland.

With the Yankees trailing 2-1 entering the frame, Jorge Posada led off with a single and Granderson followed by pulling a delivery from Jake Westbrook (6-7) into the right field stands for his third homer in two games, handing New York its fifth win in six contests.

Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez went 0-for-4, and remained stuck on 599 career homers.

Javier Vazquez (9-7) allowed two runs on five hits over seven innings, issuing three walks and striking out five. Mariano Rivera tossed a scoreless ninth to collect his 21st save.

Westbrook yielded three runs on four hits in an eight-inning performance.

Travis Hafner homered for the Indians.
