NHL: Pittsburgh 2, Boston 1

PITTSBURGH, March 7 (UPI) -- Evgeni Malkin's goal early in the third period give the Pittsburgh Penguins a 2-1 triumph over Boston Sunday.

Pascal Dupuis got the other Pittsburgh score as the Penguins remained undefeated since the Winter Olympics break, going 4-0 during the span.

Marc-Andre Fleury notched 21 saves in Pittsburgh's win.

Boston's Tim Thomas stopped 31 shots but sustained the loss. Blake Wheeler tallied the Bruins' lone goal.

Boston center Marc Savard was taken off the ice on a stretcher late in regulation time after being caught unawares by Pittsburgh's Matt Cooke, who struck him in the head with a shoulder.

Cooke was not whistled for a penalty on the play.
