MLB: Texas 6, Houston 2

ARLINGTON, Texas, May 17 (UPI) -- Milton Bradley and Marlon Byrd hit two-run homers Saturday to help the Texas Rangers down the Houston Astros 6-2.

Bradley belted his seventh homer this season with two outs in the bottom of the first inning to erase a 1-0 deficit and Byrd's first homer this season came with one out in the second, giving Texas a 4-1 lead.

David Murphy and Gerald Laird had one RBI each. Byrd had three hits and three others had two each for the Rangers, who have won the first two of the three-game inter-league series.

Winner Vicente Padilla (6-2) surrendered two earned runs and five hits in seven innings with three walks and seven strikeouts.

Houston's Lance Berkman had two of his team's seven hits, including a solo homer in the fourth. Miguel Tejada added an RBI single in the top of the first for the Astros, who have split their last four games.

The losing pitcher was starter Roy Oswalt (4-4).
