NHL: San Jose 3, Calgary 2

CALGARY, Alberta, April 16 (UPI) -- Joe Thornton's deflection shot with 9.4 seconds left Tuesday gave San Jose a 3-2 win over Calgary, evening their Western Conference quarterfinal series at 2-2.

Thornton's goal completed a comeback that included Jonathan Cheechoo's goal that tied it up at 15:06 of the third. Ryane Clow accounted for Calgary's other goal.

Sharks goalie Evgeni Nabokov faced only 10 shots.

The Flames got goals from Jarome Iginla and Dion Phaneuf. Miikka Kiprusoff made 29 saves in the losing effort.

Game 5 will be Thursday in San Jose.
