NHL: Dallas 4, Anaheim 0

ANAHEIM, Calif., April 11 (UPI) -- Marty Turco made 23 saves Thursday and the Dallas Stars scored all their goals on the power play to defeat Anaheim in their playoff opener 4-0.

The defending Stanley Cup champion Ducks were dominated throughout and boos were hurled at them by the home fans as the players left the ice.

Anaheim is trying to become the first team in a decade to win back-to-back league titles.

Steve Ott, Loui Eriksson, Jere Lehtinen and Brenden Morrow scored and Dallas fired 37 shots on Jean-Sebastien Giguere, who was removed late in the game.

Travis Moen was sent off for elbowing 10:22 into the first period and Ott scored 63 seconds later by powering a slap shot past Giguere.

There was 3:59 left in the opening period when Brian Sutherby was called for cross-checking. It took Eriksson 93 seconds to produce a goal on that power play.

Lehtinen made it 3-0 four minutes deep in the second and Morrow tipped in a shot with 3:38 remaining in the stanza.

Anaheim had a 28-9-4 record at home in the regular season, but has now lost home-ice advantage to the Stars.

The second game of the series will be played Saturday in Anaheim.
