NBA: New Orleans 98, Orlando 97

ORLANDO, Fla., April 1 (UPI) -- Chris Paul had 19 points and 12 rebounds Tuesday, sparking the New Orleans Hornets' 98-97 victory over the Orlando Magic.

Morris Peterson also scored 19 points, and David West 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Hornets.

New Orleans, which has won seven of its last eight games, is a half-game ahead of San Antonio for the lead in the NBA Western Conference.

Hedo Turkoglu had 26 points and Rashard Lewis 24 for the Magic, who have lost three of their last four games.

The Magic have already clinched the Southeast Division title and appear locked into the Eastern Conference's No. 3 seed. Dwight Howard had 17 points and 15 rebounds in the loss.
