NHL: Atlanta 6, Calgary 4

ATLANTA, March 13 (UPI) -- The third hat trick of the season for Ilya Kovalchuk Thursday lifted Atlanta to a 6-4 decision over Calgary.

Bobby Holik produced the winning goal with 3:47 to play and added two assists. Kari Lehtonen made 28 saves in what was only the second Atlanta win in its last 12 games.

Two of Calgary's goals came from Jarome Iginla. The Flames have lost three out of four.

Calgary's Curtis Joseph gave up five goals on 31 shots. The Flames entered the night tied with Colorado for first place in the Northwest Division. Colorado played a home game against Edmonton.

Calgary overcame a two-goal deficit to tie it with 9:50 remaining in the third period, but Holik put Atlanta back in front with a wrist shot that sailed over Joseph's glove.

Kovalchuk has 10 career hat tricks and his 48 goals this season are four short of his career best.
