MLB: Chi. Cubs 6, Houston 5

CHICAGO, Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Derrek Lee hit a game-winning two-run home run in the bottom of the eighth Sunday as the Chicago Cubs beat Houston, 6-5.

Lee’s 17th homer this season came with two outs, and capped a comeback from an earlier 5-1 deficit.

Chicago also got a solo homer from Matt Murton, RBI singles from Lee and Ryan Theriot, and a sacrifice fly from Alfonso Soriano. Lee had three hits and Soriano had two, as the Cubs won for the second time in the three-game series.

The winning pitcher was Carlos Marmol (5-1).

Ryan Dempster earned his 25th save.

Houston built its early lead on a two-run homer by Lance Berkman and RBI doubles by Hunter Pence, Ty Wigginton and Eric Bruntlett. Wigginton had two hits for the Astros, who have dropped six of 10.

The losing pitcher was Chad Qualls. He fell to 6-4 after Lee's homer led to his fourth blown save.
