MLB: LA Dodgers 5, Philadelphia 4

LOS ANGELES, July 18 (UPI) -- Luis Gonzalez hit a go-ahead solo home run Wednesday afternoon as the Los Angeles Dodgers edged Philadelphia, 5-4.

Gonzalez's 11th homer of the season broke a 4-4 tie.

LA's Andre Ethier hit his eighth homer, a three-run blast in the fourth. Russell Martin drove in a run, while Wilson Betemit had a run and two hits for the Dodgers, who got the fourth win in their last five games.

The winner was Rudy Seanez (6-1).

Takashi Saito earned his career-high 25th save of the season.

LA's Juan Pierre extended his hitting streak to 11 straight games with a first inning single.

Philadelphia's Ryan Howard ran his home run total to 25 for the season. He had three runs, two hits and one RBI.

Aaron Rowand, Carlos Ruiz and Pat Burrell each had one RBI, while Ruiz and Burrell also had two hits for the Phillies, who have dropped three of four.

The loser was Kyle Kendrick (4-1).
