MLB: Arizona 5, San Francisco 4

PHOENIX, April 29 (UPI) -- Scott Hairston hit a pinch-hit three-run homer in the seventh inning Saturday night as the Arizona Diamondbacks rallied to beat San Francisco, 5-4.

The blast overshadowed Barry Bonds, who hit a two-run homer in the first inning, giving him 742 for his Major League Baseball career. Bonds needs 13 more homers to tie Henry Aaron's record of 755.

Carlos Quentin and Miguel Montero had one RBI each, and Chad Tracy had two runs and two hits for the Diamondbacks, who have won four in a row.

The winner was reliever Dustin Nippert (1-0). Closer Jose Valverde recorded his major league-high 10th save of the season.

Pedro Feliz had three hits and one RBI, and Omar Vizquel had one RBI for the Giants, who have lost two in a row.

The losing pitcher was Vinnie Chulk (0-1).
