MLB: Detroit 6, Chi. White Sox 2

CHICAGO, April 26 (UPI) -- Magglio Ordonez and Placido Polanco each drove in three runs Wednesday to lead the Detroit Tigers past the Chicago White Sox 6-2.

Ordonez' two-run single in the top of the first inning got the Tigers started and his RBI double increased Detroit's lead to 4-0 in the top of the fifth.

Polanco also scored one run, while Ivan Rodriguez had a run and three hits, and Garry Sheffield had two runs and two hits for the Tigers, who have won three of their last four games.

Winner Chad Durbin (1-1) scattered three hits over eight scoreless innings with no walks and nine strikeouts. Todd Jones recorded his eight save of the season.

Jose Uribe and Pablo Ozuna had one RBI apiece for the White Sox, who had only four hits.

Loser John Danks (0-3) surrendered four earned runs and nine hits in six innings. Reliever Boone Logan gave two earned runs and four hits in three innings.
