KANSAS CITY, Mo., Sept. 19 (UPI) -- Robb Quinlan and Vladimir Guerrero homered Tuesday as the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim defeated the Kansas City Royals, 5-2.
Joe Saunders (6-3) allowed one run on seven hits with eight strikeouts over seven innings for the Angels, who climbed to within six games of the AL West-leading Oakland Athletics.

Angel Berroa had two hits, an RBI and a run scored for the Royals, who have lost three of their last four games.
Jorge De La Rosa (5-5) allowed four runs on only four hits through 6 2/3 innings with four strikeouts and four walks.
