MLB: N.Y. Yankees 11, LA Angels 8

ANAHEIM, Calif., Aug. 27 (UPI) -- Bernie Williams and Derek Jeter both hit two home runs Sunday afternoon as the New York Yankees beat the Los Angeles Angels, 11-8.

Williams hit a solo homer in the second inning and a three-run blast in the third. Jeter hit a two-run homer in the first and a solo shot in the eighth.

Williams also hit a two-run double to finish with six RBI. Jeter had three RBI, and Robinson Cano drove in two runs for the Yankees (77-52), who broke a three-game losing streak.

The winner was Jeff Karstens (1-0).

Adam Kennedy and Chone Figgins both had two RBI; Juan Rivera, Vladimir Guerrero and Maicer Izturis all knocked in one run; Kennedy had three hits; and Izturis had a run and three hits for the Angels (69-62), who have split their last four games.

The losing pitcher was Joe Saunders (4-2).
