CINCINNATI, July 19 (UPI) -- A two-run double by Jason LaRue in the bottom of the eighth inning Wednesday night helped Cincinnati beat the New York Mets, 7-4.
Edwin Encarnacion hit a two-run single; Rich Aurilia hit a solo home run; and Scott Hatteberg had a run and two hits for the Reds (50-45), who have five wins in their last six games.

In relief, the winning pitcher was Todd Coffey (5-4). Eddie Guardado earned his fourth save.
David Wright and Jose Reyes hit two-run singles, and Reyes had two hits for the Mets (56-38), who have two losses in their last five games, but lead the National League East by a comfortable 11½ games over Atlanta.
The loser was reliever Duaner Sanchez (5-1).
