NBA: New Jersey 95, Boston 93

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., April 16 (UPI) -- Nenad Krstic had 18 points, six rebounds and two assists Sunday night as New Jersey edged the Boston Celtics, 95-93.

Richard Jefferson totaled 15 points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals; Vince Carter had 13 points, nine assists, three rebounds and two blocked shots; and Zoran Planinic added 13 points and two rebounds for the Nets (49-31).

New Jersey swept the home-and-home series with Boston and is locked into the third position in the Eastern Conference playoff chase.

Gerald Green had 19 points, three rebounds and six assists; Kendrick Perkins had 16 points, nine rebounds and three assists; and Ryan Gomes added 15 points and five rebounds for the Celtics (32-48), who have dropped five of their last six games. Boston played without injured starters Paul Pierce (left elbow bursitis), and Delonte West (left calf strain).
