NHL: Edmonton 3, San Jose 2

EDMONTON, Alberta, March 4 (UPI) -- Edmonton's Ales Hemsky scored the winning goal with 1:07 left in the third period to lift the Oilers past the visiting San Jose Sharks Friday night, 3-2.

Raffi Torres and Shawn Horcoff also scored for the Oilers, who snapped a four-game losing streak. Dick Tarnstrom added two assists. Goaltender Ty Conklin, in his first game since Jan. 14, made 19 saves.

Edmonton also received a boost after getting back captain Jason Smith, who logged two assists, and assistant captain Ethan Moreau from injuries.

Patrick Marleau and Joe Thornton both scored for the Sharks. Vesa Toskala made 27 saves in defeat.
