NBA: New Jersey 96, Orlando 93

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Feb. 22 (UPI) -- Jason Kidd had 28 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds Wednesday night as New Jersey beat the Orlando Magic, 96-93.

Richard Jefferson added 23 and eight rebounds; Vince Carter had 22 points and nine rebounds; and Clifford Robinson had six rebounds and two assists for the Nets (29-23), who have built a three-game winning streak.

Keyon Dooling had 23 points and six assists; Dwight Howard had 17 points and six rebounds; DeShawn Stevenson had 14 points, two rebounds and three assists; and Carlos Arroyo had 13 points, four rebounds and four assists for the under-manned Magic (19-33), who have lost eight in a row.

Earlier in the day, the Magic traded unhappy guard Steve Francis, who was not in uniform, to New York for Penny Hardaway.

The Nets out-rebounded Orlando, 41-36.
