NBA: Detroit 97, L.A. Clippers 87

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Tayshaun Prince had 22 points, two rebounds and two assists Wednesday night as Detroit beat the Los Angeles Clippers, 97-87.

Rasheed Wallace had 19 points, seven rebounds and two assists; Chauncey Billups added 18 points, three rebounds and four assists; Ben Wallace had eight points and 13 rebounds; Antonio McDyess had 13 points, two assists and four rebounds while Prince scored half of his 22 points in the fourth quarter for the Pistons (40-7), who avoided their first three-game losing streak of the season.

Elton Brand had 30 points and nine rebounds; Cuttino Mobley added 27 points and six rebounds; and Chris Kaman had 13 points and seven rebounds for the Clippers (28-18), who lost for only the second time in their last 11 games and finished 4-2 on their six-game road trip.

The Clippers out-rebounded Detroit, 41-34.
