SUNRISE, Fla., Feb. 4 (UPI) -- Chris Gratton had two goals and an assist Friday night as Florida beat the Atlanta Thrashers, 5-2.
It was the Thashers' seventh straight loss.
Jon Sim, who was acquired from the Philadelphia Flyers on Jan. 23 in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2007 NHL draft, scored the game-winning goal in the third period. It was his first goal with the Panthers.
Olli Jokinen had three assists and Roberto Luongo made 37 saves in goal for Florida (21-25-8), which won for only the third time in its last eight games.
Marc Savard and Vyacheslav Kozlov each scored once; Savard, Ilya Kovalchuk, Andy Sutton, and Slava Kozlov had assists while goalie Kari Lehtonen made 32 saves for the Thrashers (23-25-6).
Atlanta out-shot Florida, 39-37. On the power play, Atlanta was just 1-for-11. Florida went 2-for-7.
