NBA: Detroit 95, Memphis 89

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Jan. 27 (UPI) -- Potential all-star Chauncey Billups scored 16 of his game-high 34 points in the fourth quarter Friday night to help Detroit beat Memphis, 95-89.

Billups added four assists, two rebounds and two steals. Richard Hamilton had 19 points and seven assists; Tayshaun Prince had 16 points and eight rebounds; and Rasheed Wallace had 12 points and 13 rebounds for the Pistons, who rose to 36-5 with their tenth win in a row.

Pau Gasol had 31 points and seven rebounds; Mike Miller had 20 points, five rebounds, two assists and four steals; and Eddie Jones had 12 points, two rebounds and three steals for the Grizzlies (25-17).

Memphis has dropped six of its last seven games.

Detroit had a 42-31 advantage in rebounding.
