NHL: Colorado 7, Calgary 4

DENVER, Jan. 25 (UPI) -- Colorado's Joe Sakic scored two power-play goals and added an assist as the Avalanche downed the visiting Calgary Flames, 7-4, Tuesday night.

Alex Tanguay picked up a goal and two assists for the Avalanche, while rookie Marek Svatos registered a goal and an assist in the victory. Defenseman Brett Clark scored his fifth goal of the season, and John-Michael Liles and Antti Laaksonen rounded out the scoring. Goaltender David Aebischer made 30 saves.

Chuck Kobasew picked up his first career hat trick for the Flames, who saw a four-game winning streak come to an end. Steven Reinprecht had a goal and an assist.

Former Colorado goaltender Philippe Sauve got the start for Calgary and allowed seven goals on 27 shots.
