NBA: Detroit 107, Minnesota 83

MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- Chauncey Billups had 27 points and eight assists Tuesday as the Detroit Pistons beat the Minnesota Timberwolves, 107-83.

Detroit Coach Flip Saunders, who was fired by the Timberwolves in February 2005 after nine and a half years, took over the Pistons this season and was facing his former team for the first time.

Six Piston players finished in double figures including Antonio McDyess who had 16 points and Tayshaun Prince and Rasheed Wallace, who had 15 points each.

Detroit has won eight straight and 10 of its last 11 overall.

Kevin Garnett had 21 points and 10 rebounds for the Timberwolves, who have lost three of four.
