NHL: Buffalo 6, N.Y. Islanders 4

UNIONDALE, N.Y., Oct. 29 (UPI) -- Ales Kotalik scored two goals Saturday night to help Buffalo beat the New York Islanders, 6-4.

Jochen Hecht added a goal and two assists for the Sabres (7-4-0).

Daniel Briere added one goal and an assist, J.P. Dumont and Tim Connolly tallied goals and Martin Biron made 33 saves as the Sabres snapped a two-game skid.

Former Sabres Miroslav Satan and Alexei Zhitnik scored goals against their former team. Alexei Yashin and Robert Nilsson scored and Arron Asham had two assists for the Islanders (5-6-0), who have lost three of their last four games contests.

The Sabres were 4-for-8 on the power play, while the Isles went 1-for-4. The Islanders out-shot the Sabres, 37-31.
