NHL: NY Islanders 4, Atlanta 3

UNIONDALE, N.Y., Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Alexei Yashin scored two power-play goals and added an assist Tuesday to lead the New York Islanders to a 4-3 victory over the Atlanta Thrashers.

Jason Blake and Miroslav Satan also scored for the Islanders, who have won three of their last four games. Satan, who picked up his seventh goal of the season, has scored five goals in his last four games.

Rick DiPietro made 33 saves in the victory. Alexei Zhitnik added two assists in the game to give him nine this season.

Ilya Kovalchuk added a pair of goals for the Thrashers, who have lost five of their last six games. Bobby Holik also scored for Atlanta, while Adam Berkhoel stopped 22-of-26 shots.
