ATLANTA, Sept. 4 (UPI) -- Jason LaRue hit a pinch-hit grand slam home run in the 12th inning Sunday afternoon to give Cincinnati an 8-3 win over Atlanta.
Austin Kearns added an RBI double and Edwin Encarnacion, Sean Casey and Ken Griffey Jr. -- who hit his 35th home run -- all had two hits for the Reds, who broke a five-game losing streak. Javier Valentin also homered for Cincinnati.
Griffey suffered a sprained right foot and is listed as day-to-day.
In relief, winning pitcher Matt Belisle rose to 3-6.
Marcus Giles hit two home runs and a triple and Chipper Jones had one hit and one RBI for National League East-leading Atlanta, which had a three-game winning streak broken.
It was Giles' fourth career multi-homer game.
Loser Danny Kolb sank to 3-7.
