MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 2 (UPI) -- The Oakland Athletics scored three runs in the eighth inning Tuesday to defeat the Minnesota Twins, 5-2.
Mark Kotsay had three hits and Jason Kendall added two hits, including an RBI single, to help the Athletics pick up their 13th victory in 14 games. Oakland is 16-3 since the All-Star break.

The Twins suffered their sixth straight defeat. Jacque Jones and Michael Cuddyer each homered for Minnesota.
The eighth inning outburst gave the win to Dan Haren (9-7), who allowed two runs and struck out six over the first seven innings. Huston Street celebrated his 22nd birthday with a scoreless ninth to earn his 11th save.
