SEATTLE, July 27 (UPI) -- Dmitri Young hit a three-run homer to erase an eighth-inning deficit and lead the Detroit Tigers to an 8-5 victory over the Seattle Mariners.
Young finished 3-for-5 with five RBI, while John McDonald and Ivan Rodriguez each scored twice for Detroit.

Tigers starter Jason Johnson (7-) survived eight innings for the win. He was charged with five runs -- four earned -- on nine hits. The righthander struck out four and walked three.
Kyle Farnsworth worked the ninth for his sixth save.
Ichiro Suzuki drove in a pair of runs and scored once for Seattle.
Mariners starter Joel Pineiro was charged with four runs on 10 hits in 5 1/3 innings.
