Russ Adams broke a 1-1 tie in the seventh inning by driving in a run with a ground out. Toronto, which is leading the AL East, has won five of its last six.

Pedro Astacio (0-1) was the hard-luck loser. He gave up two runs on five hits in seven innings.

After surrendering a two-out single to Mark Teixeira and walking Richard Hidalgo in the ninth, Halladay got Adrian Gonzalez to ground out and end the game.
