NBA: Minnesota 83, Dallas 82

DALLAS, Nov. 23 (UPI) -- Kevin Garnett made two free throws with five seconds remaining Monday to give the Minnesota Timberwolves an 83-82 victory over the Dallas Mavericks.

Garnett finished one assist away from a triple-double with 21 points, 17 rebounds and nine assists.

Sam Cassell scored 16 points for the Timberwolves, who overcame a 12-point deficit in the final 4 1/2 minutes for their fourth victory in five games.

Dallas was missing its top two players, Dirk Nowitzki and Michael Finley -- both out with sprained ankles, but still held the lead for most of the game.

Josh Howard had 22 points and rookie point guard Devin Harris scored 14.
