Singh has 14.02 points to 12.02 for Woods as reported by the ranking, which is endorsed by the world's major professional tours. The ranking is released each Monday.

Ernie Els, the only other player with a double-figure point total at 11.10, remains in third place and Phil Mickelson and Retief Goosen complete the top five.

Next in order are Davis Love III, Mike Weir, Padraig Harrington, Stewart Cink and Adam Scott at No. 10.

Woods could gain on Singh at this week's American Express World Golf Championship in Ireland. Singh has withdrawn from the event.
