Singh holds on to PGA 84 Lumber lead

FARMINGTON, Pa., Sept. 25 (UPI) -- Vijay Singh shot even-par 72 Saturday to hold on to a two-shot edge at the 84 Lumber Classic.

Singh is 12-under-par 204 after 54 holes in search of his eighth victory of the season.

Chris DiMarco, who lost to Singh in a playoff at the PGA Championship in August, bogeyed each of his last two holes to finish alone in second place at 10-under-par 206. Jonathan Byrd and Matt Gogel followed at nine-under-par 207.

Former British Open champion Ben Curtis played his way out of contentionwith an 81 on Saturday.

Zach Johnson carded a 70 to join Kent Jones in a tie for fifth place at eight-under-par 208.

Stewart Cink followed at seven-under-par 209 along with Joey Sindelar, Duffy Waldorf, Len Mattiace, Pat Perez, Robert Gamez and Bob Burns.
