BALTIMORE, July 26 (UPI) -- The Boston Red Sox beat the Baltimore Orioles, 12-5, Monday thanks to the offense provided by Jason Varitek and Gabe Kabler.
Varitek drove in three runs and Kapler was 3-for-5 while scoring three times.
Pedro Martinez (11-4) started with five scoreless innings, but was charged with five runs on seven hits and a pair of walks over 6 1/3.
Manny Ramirez was 3-for-4 and scored twice for the Red Sox, winners of three straight games. Kevin Millar and David Ortiz each drove in two runs.
Miguel Tejada hit a two-run homer for Baltimore to raise his major league-leading RBI total to 92.
Erik Bedard (4-5) lasted just 4 2/3 innings for the loss, the fourth in five tries for the Orioles. He allowed six runs on seven hits and three walks.
