French golfer leads Scottish Open

LOCH LOMOND, Scotland, July 9 (UPI) -- France's Gregory Havret led the Scottish Open at the halfway point Friday with a 9-under-par 133.

Havret, who shot 69 in the first round, had an eagle and three birdies on the last five holes of the 7,088-yard Loch Lomond Golf Course for 64 that gave him a one stroke lead over Ian Poulter Phillip Price and David Howell.

Eight players were another stroke back at 135 including Thomas Bjorn and Tom Lehman.

Ernie Els, defending champion of the European Tour event, was in anoter large group at 138.

Masters champion Phil Mickelson shot a 71 for a 143 total and missed the cut by a stroke.
