NHL: Colorado 4, Dallas 2

DALLAS, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- Alex Tanguay scored twice and Milan Hejduk and Adam Foote each added a goal and an assist Saturday as Colorado beat Dallas, 4-2.

The Avalanche tallied three times on the power play, and Derek Morris collected two assists and David Aebischer made 24 saves as they improved to 5


0-1 in their last six games.

Colorado improved to 6-1


1 since Peter Forsberg returned from a groin injury. He did not have a shot, but picked up an assist.

Star right wing Teemu Selanne of Colorado was lost 2:32 into the second period after suffering a neck injury when he was elbowed by the Stars' David Oliver. He did not return.

Scott Young and Jason Arnott tallied third-period goals, but Dallas had its unbeaten streak end at three games. The Stars, who played their fourth straight game without center Mike Modano, fell to 1-2-4 in their last seven contests.
