Tampa Bay 3, Cleveland 2

WINTER HAVEN, Fla., March 16 (UPI) -- Rocco Baldelli hit a two-run homer off Aaron Myette in the top of the eighth inning Sunday to lift the Tampa Bay Devil Rays to a 3-2 win over the Cleveland Indians.

Myette allowed a single to Hector Luna before Baldelli connected for his third homer of the spring.

Jorge Sosa pitched two scoreless innings for the win and Seth McClung pitched the ninth for the save.

Cleveland starter C.C. Sabathia pitched six strong innings, allowing just one run and four hits, including an RBI double to Greg Vaughn in the sixth.

Devil Rays starter Jim Parque allowed two runs and four hits in five innings. One of the hits was a second-inning homer by Brandon Phillips.
