Ottawa 4, Buffalo 2

BUFFALO, N.Y., Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Marian Hossa scored twice, including a standout individual effort with just under eight minutes left, and Magnus Arvedson collected two assists as the Ottawa Senators snapped their eight-game road winless streak against the Buffalo Sabres Tuesday night with a 4-2 victory.

With the Senators ahead, 3-1, Hossa slipped the puck through the legs of Sabres defenseman Brian Campbell in the high slot to create a breakaway. As Martin Biron went for the poke-check, Hossa flipped the puck over the Buffalo goaltender for a three-goal cushion.

That increased Hossa's season tally to 18 goals, moving him into second place in the NHL goal-scoring race behind Minnesota's Marian Gaborik, and gave the Senators their first win in Buffalo since Dec. 30, 1998.

Miroslav Satan had two assists to increase his points streak to five games, and defenseman Henrik Tallinder netted his first NHL goal for the Sabres, whose three-game winning streak was snapped.
