Police horse runs free through Florida street after losing rider

July 24 (UPI) -- A Florida police horse that lost its rider was filmed taking a rider-free gallop down a busy downtown Miami street.

The video, filmed by a witness around midday Tuesday, shows the City of Miami Police horse galloping near the Miami-Dade County Courthouse in downtown Miami.

A police representative said the horse's rider had fallen off moments earlier.

The officer suffered only minor injuries and the horse was safely recovered.
