The Skowhegan Moose Festival, which posted video of the attempt to Facebook, said Guinness World Records required at least 995 people to participate in the mass moose call Saturday, and organizers handed out at least 1,600 wristbands for participants. Advertisement Organizer Roger Lambert estimated the actual number of moose callers to be close to 2,000. Lambert said the moose calls had to be sustained for at least 30 seconds to qualify for the Guinness Book of World Records. He said the festival has submitted video of the attempt and documentation from the festival to the record-keeping organization for verification.
