BOULDER, Colo., June 20 (UPI) -- A Colorado sheriff's office used a court security X-ray image to tweet out a reminder: No iguanas are allowed in the county Justice Center.

The Boulder County Sheriff's Office tweeted a photo showing the lizard alongside a court visitor's belongings Friday in the X-ray machine at the Boulder County Justice Center.

"At the Justice Center only service animals are allowed. No iguanas...even if it goes through the X-ray machine," the tweet read.

Boulder County sheriff's spokeswoman Carrie Haverfield said the person ended up leaving the building with his lizard.

"Apparently he was there with some friends, so he waited outside with his iguana," Haverfield told the Boulder Daily Camera.

She said authorities have previously intercepted dogs, cats and mice that people attempted to smuggle into the building.

"Unfortunately, it is not the first time someone tried to put an animal through the X-ray," Haverfield said. "Sometimes people do put through strange things in there."
