Lizard turns cannibal on smaller rival in Indonesia

MAKASSAR, Indonesia, May 23 (UPI) -- A lizard in Indonesia was caught on camera turning cannibal by devouring a smaller, similarly colored lizard head-first.

The video, filmed last week in Makassar, shows a lizard clinging to a wall while holding a smaller lizard's head in its mouth.

The smaller lizard thrashes to get free, but the larger animal runs its prey up the wall and shakes it violently until it stops moving.

The species of the lizards was unclear.
