SAN FRANCISCO, June 3 (UPI) -- An injured chicken in California perhaps drew inspiration from videos of other animals during its recovery process.

Olivia Fox shared video of her chicken, named Strawberry, watching animal documentaries on a tablet while recovering from an injury.

Fox said her fiancé Brian Larsen came up with the idea because Strawberry would often grow antsy and attempt to escape.

"Realizing she was probably bored out of her mind, Brian said, 'Why not give her something to watch?'" Fox wrote.

Strawberry can be seen intently staring at the video while occasionally squawking and pecking at the screen.

Fox said the unorthodox method seemed to help keep Strawberry in place and added that she most enjoyed watching the animal videos.

"It worked like a charm. Her favorite channel? National Geographic," she wrote.
