Chicken feasts on snake-like lizard on Slovenian farm

LIPA, Slovenia, April 26 (UPI) -- A Slovenian chicken owner was shocked to discover one of the birds feasting on an unusual snack -- a snake-like glass lizard.

The owner captured video Thursday on the Lipa, Slovenia, farm after noticing the item in the chicken's mouth was a glass lizard, a reptile often referred to as a "glass snake" due to its resemblance to a serpent.

"I was shocked when I saw my chicken eating lizard snake. I thought she could never eat it whole, but I was wrong," the owner wrote.

"The general rule of chickendom seems to be, 'Eat it before it eats you,'" the uploader joked.
