PERAK, Malaysia, May 5 (UPI) -- A python weighing more than 200 pounds was captured in a Malaysian village when locals discovered the serpent in the process of laying her eggs.

Video from the Sunday capture in Perak shows wildlife officials carefully placing the mother snake in a cage after the massive python, estimated to weigh about 220 pounds, was discovered by locals.

Officials said they collected about 90 eggs from the reptile's location.

The python and her eggs were taken to a nearby zoo.
